Top 7 Highlights of the Premier League Gameweek 5 Week

Another weekend of Premier League action done with all ten fixtures completed with the biggest of them all at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening, where Manchester City were the visitors, and hosted by Arsenal.
From Liverpool's derby win to the classic game in the Emirates, here are the seven highlights of the Premier League Weekend.
7 Highlights of Premier League Gameweek 5
1. Defending Champions Go Five Clear

Liverpool secured a massive 2-1 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby to go six points clear at the Premier League summit, later reduced to five at the end of the gameweek.
Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch gave Arne Slot's charge the lead inside the opening 10 minutes, arriving in the box to volley home Mohamed Salah's pass for his second league goal, more than he managed in his first two seasons in the competition combined.
The former Bayern Munich man continued his impressive form to set up Hugo Ekitike for a Liverpool cushion two minutes before the half-hour, with the French striker scoring his third Premier League goal in five games.
That was as good as it got for the defending champions, as Everton seized command thereon, but could only pull one back through Idrissa Gana Gueye two minutes before the hour mark as it finished 2-1 to Liverpool, who made it five wins from five.
It is the fifth time in their history that Liverpool have won each of their opening five games of the league season, and the first time since 2019-20.
They've also now won five consecutive Premier League Merseyside derby games at home for the first time since January 1937.
2. Gabriel Martinelli's Late Strike Earned Mikel Arteta a Record

Mikel Arteta becomes the first manager ever to go five unbeaten league games against Pep Guardiola following Arsenal's one-all draw with Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday evening.
The Gunners, who had won two and drawn as many in their previous four games before kickoff, were by a country mile the better side, but the level of their mentality will determine their feelings at full-time due to the result.
Erling Haaland's goal in the ninth minute meant they had to chase the game, and they really took it to the visitors, who were kept in the game by their outstanding goalkeeper and a familiar nemesis for Arsenal, Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was literally unbeatable for PSG in their Champions League semi-final clash last season.
However, even he had no response to a brilliant Gabriel Martinelli goal three minutes into added time as Arsenal salvaged a point and ensured their manager achieved the impressive record against one of the best managers of all time.
Nevertheless, it was a disappointing match for the home side, who would have thought they could have won the game despite only rescuing a point late on, but that is no consolation as they now fall five points behind leaders Liverpool.
3. Sanchez and Maresca Sold Chelsea Out in Old Trafford

Madness in Old Trafford as Robert Sanchez was sent off for Chelsea four minutes into their Premier League clash with Manchester United on Saturday evening, but Enzo Maresca came up with even more madness later in the game.
The Italian took out all his attackers, leaving only Joao Pedro on the pitch, with Pedro Neto and Estevao Willian withdrawn right after the red, while Cole Palmer was subbed out at the end of the first quarter as a precaution.
Despite the man advantage, Ruben Amorim's charge struggled to dictate the game, although they scored twice in the half through Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, the latter going on to receive a second booking just before halftime to leave both teams with 10 men.
Chelsea did pull one back through Trevor Chalobah in the closing stages of the match, and the way they dominated will leave fans asking why their manager took off their attacking threats very early in the game.
Manchester United have now gone 13 Premier League games without losing to Chelsea at Old Trafford, with their last defeat there coming back in May 2013, courtesy of Juan Mata's late goal.
4. Spurs Comeback Denied Brighton

Brighton remain with just one win in the Premier League this season after Tottenham Hotspur came from two goals down to steal a point at the Amex on Saturday.
The hosts got off to a perfect start as Yankuba Minteh put them in front with a brilliant run from midfield after getting on the end of a Georginio Rutter ball, a goal that came amidst Spurs' dominance inside the opening eight minutes.
The lead was doubled one minute after the half-hour through Yasin Ayari, who unleashed an absolute screamer from the edge of the box after picking up possession, beating Vicario for the second time in the game.
But Spurs managed to score a crucial goal just before half-time through striker Richarlison, who pounced home from close range for his first goal since a brace in the opening weekend win over Burnley.
Thomas Frank's charge continued their dominance after the interval and were rewarded with eight minutes of normal time left to play as a cross from Mohammed Kudus was diverted into his own net by Jean Paul van Hecke to level the score.
It finished 2-2 and Spurs maintained their position in third, level on points with both Arsenal and Bournemouth, all five behind leaders Liverpool.
5. Newcomers Impress Again

After the end of the fifth gameweek, Premier League newcomers have amassed a total of 19 points, a tally that took ten weeks to achieve for last season's promoted teams.
Over the weekend, Leeds United came from a goal down to beat Wolves 3-1, leaving Vitor Pereira and his side with no points after five league games into the season.
The hosts took the lead through Ladislav Krejci after just eight minutes, but the visitors restored parity one minute after the half-hour through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored his first goal for Leeds, and his first in the league against Wolves.
The comeback was completed seven minutes later as Anton Stach scored a sensational free-kick for his first Leeds United goal and, deep into added time in the first half, set up Noah Okafor for the final goal of the game as it finished 3-1.
Burnley were also impressive against Nottingham Forest, who earned a European place finish last season, as Jaidon Anthony scored in the 20th minute to cancel out a Neco Williams opener in a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor.
Sunderland had the toughest job but lived up to the billing as they managed to hold on for a point against Aston Villa, despite playing two-thirds of the game with 10 men due to the sending off of Renildo in the 33rd minute.
The hosts put up a good fight but eventually fell behind in the 67th minute as Matty Cash produced a wonderful long-range strike for the visitors' first Premier League goal of the season, with their first shot on target since Sunderland were reduced to 10 men.
Wilson Isidor responded for the hosts eight minutes later, heading home from Granit Xhaka's pass to become the first Sunderland player to score in each of the first three home games of a Premier League season since Darren Bent in 2010-11.
All three newly promoted clubs remain out of the relegation zone, with Sunderland, Leeds United, and Burnley taking seventh, 12th, and 16th positions respectively.
6. Alex Iwobi Inspires Fulham to Derby Win

Fulham came from a goal down to beat Brentford 3-1 in the London derby on Saturday evening, thanks to Alex Iwobi, who led the show with a goal and an assist to help overcome adversity at Craven Cottage.
It was the visitors who took the lead out of nothing as Danish Mikkel Damsgaard pounced on a Josh King error to score his first goal of the season in the 20th minute, but the hosts responded through Iwobi, who buried a half-volley from inside the box in the 38th minute.
The Nigerian set up Harry Wilson for the go-ahead strike two minutes later, and the Welshman took it in his stride to complete the comeback.
The points were secured five minutes after the restart as Ethan Pinnock put through his own net to seal a 3-1 victory, giving the home side their first back-to-back league wins since February.
7. Struggles Continue for Newcastle and West Ham

Newcastle United were held to a goalless draw at Bournemouth, who extended their unbeaten run to four in the league, having not lost since their opening weekend defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Although neither of the two teams created any real goalscoring opportunities, the hosts were much better than Eddie Howe's side, and the manager will be left thinking about how to get his team firing again as the season progresses.
Meanwhile, West Ham United lost again as Tyrick Mitchell's goal sealed a 2-1 win for visiting Crystal Palace on Saturday, after Jarrod Bowen's early strike in the second half had canceled out Jean-Phillip Mateta's opener.
