Since the start of the Premier League era in 1992/93, several talented Nigerian players have graced the most prophesied league in the world.
From Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s clinical finishing to Nwankwo Kanu’s technical brilliance and Austin Okocha's showboating, these Nigerians have thrilled fans with their footballing gifts.

10. Victor Moses - 20

Majority of Victor Moses' 20 Premier League goals came in the colours of Chelsea, whom he joined from Wigan Athletic at the end of tbe 2011/12 season.
He enjoyed winning the UEFA Europa League in his first season with the club but spent most of his time at the club on loan to several clubs, including Chelsea's English rivals like Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United.
He finally left the club in the summer of 2021, joining Spartak Moscow in a permanent deal after spending the previous season with the Russian club on loan.
9. Alex Iwobi - 27 goals

Still at the peak of his powers and has been more consistent with the numbers of late, Alex Iwobi is bound to overtake a few more names before the end of the 2024/25 season.
Started his Premier League career at Arsenal, where he scored nine goals in the competition before moving to Everton, Iwobi has now totaled 27 goals, seven of which have come in the ongoing season.
His consistency in front of the goal for the Cottagers should see him target double figures in the season, which will see him move to 30+, and overtake a couple of names on this list.
8. Victor Anichebe - 27 goals

Victor Anichebe is one of the Nigerian strikers more famous for their association with Premier League club Everton than even the Super Eagles.
The retired goalscorer spent seven seasons with the Merseyside club before moving to West Bromwich Albion at the end of the 2012/13 season, where he added a few more before moving to his final English club, Sunderland.
Anichebe appeared for the Super Eagles of Nigeria just eleven times, scoring his only senior goal in a friendly clash with Kenya in March 2012.
7. Obafemi Martins - 28 goals

Obafemi Martins is considered one of the most deadly Nigerian strikers to ever grace the Premier League and could have added better numbers but for injuries, limited engagement and his few years in the league.
In his three seasons playing in the league, he made 88 appearances and found the back of the net on 28 occasions for Newcastle United, who signed him as a major acquisition from Inter in the summer of 2006.
He was even a subject of interest from Chelsea but choose to remain at Newcastle United at the time, and left in 2009 after the club suffered relegation from the topflight.
6. Peter Osaze Odemwingie - 37 goals

Made in Nigeria at Bendel Insurance, Peter Osaze Odemwingie moved to Europe on 2002 but it wasn't until eight years later in 2010 that he finally arrived in the English Premier League, joining West Bromwich Albion.
Although The Baggies are the he is mostly associated with as he spent three seasons with them, scoring 30 of his 37 Premier League goals for them. He also played for Stoke City, scored six times and Cardiff, where he scored just once.
Odemwingie was a famous member of the Super Eagles team between 2002 and 2014, and was fortunate to be part of the side that won the AFCON title in 2013.

Kelechi Iheanacho emerged as a reliable goal scorer at Manchester City, where he didn't get much of desired minutes but had vital contributions odd the bench, amassing 12 Premier League goals for Pep Guardiola's charge.

Spent the majority of his career in the United Kingdom and is renowned for playing with Newcastle United. He earned ten caps for Nigeria between 2012 and 2014, scoring two goals.
3. Efan Ekoku - 53 goals

The first-ever non-European player to score a Premier League hat-trick, doing so in the colors of Norwich away at Everton in September 1993, where he scored four goals.
Efan Ekoku is more famous at club sides rather than the National team. However, he was part of the Super Eagles side that won the AFCON in Tunisia in 1994.
Known for his athleticism and goal-scoring instincts, Ekoku also played for Wimbledon, where he consistently found the back of the net and scored the majority of his Premier League goals.

Arguably the greatest Nigerian player in Premier League history, Nwankwo Kanu was celebrated for his technical brilliance and composure, and he complemented by netting 54 Premier League goals.
His time at Arsenal was particularly remarkable, where he contributed to the team's success with crucial goals and assists. He was also part of the team that won the Invincible Premier League title in 2003/04.
Kanu's flair and creativity endeared him to fans, making him a memorable figure in English football. He also had a good time with the National team, winning one silver and four bronze medals in the AFCON.
1. Yakubu Aiyegbeni - 95 goals

Yakubu Aiyegbeni is Nigeria's all-time leading goalscorer in English Premier League history with 95 goals shared in stints with four different clubs.
The striker represented Portsmouth, Everton, Blackburn and Middlesbrough between 2003 and 2012, although in fhag period, he had a loan spell with Leicester City in the Championship.
The Yak initially joined Portsmouth on loan for the second half of the 2002/03 season, where the club competed in the Championship and secured a permanent move later in the summer, scoring 16 Premier League goals in 37 games in the 2003/04 season.
He went on to score 20+ goals for the club, as well as at Everton and Middlesbrough, with only at Blackburn Rovers the only club he failed to score 20+ goals in the league.
