Edu Gasper has resigned from his role as the Sporting Director at Arsenal, a move that brings to an end his five years at the club since returning as Arsenal's first-ever technical director in 2019

The Brazilian is set to join Marinakis group, a company that currently coordinates Premier League club Nottingham Forest, Greek outfit Olympiacos Piraeus, and Portuguese side Rio Ave.

Career as a Professional Football Player

Edu Gasper, also known simply as Edu, is a retired Brazilian midfielder, born on 16th May 1978. He had a distinguished football career as a central midfielder, most notably with Corinthians and Arsenal.

He began his professional journey in 1998 with Corinthians, where he contributed to their victories in the 1999 Campeonato Brasileiro and the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in 2000.

In 2001, Edu moved to Arsenal, where he became part of the legendary "Invincibles" squad, helping the team to an unbeaten Premier League season in 2003–2004.

He later joined Valencia in 2005, but injuries hindered his impact, and he returned to Corinthians in 2009 before retiring in 2010.
