Weekend of October 25 - 27: Top performers in Europe top five leagues
Another action packed weekend has come and gone in European club football and players were there to deliver their club important wins while some others could not perform up to expectations.

From Clasico masterclass to those that halted a long-term dominance, we take a look at the most standout individuals in each of the top five leagues of Europe.
Premier League: Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford

Aside scoring a brace, the timing as well as the significance of both goals makes the Cameroonian our pick as the best player in the English top-flight for the weekend.
Bryan Mbeumo converted a penalty six minutes after the restart to help Bournemouth complete a comeback from 2-0 down and lead for the first time in the match against a spirited Ipswich Town in the Gtech Community stadium.
The visitors then leveled matters four minutes before the end of normal time but Mbeumo will give the host the last laugh, as he swung in a cross aimed for his attackers. Fortunately, no one was able to get a touch to it and it left Ipswich goalkeeper confused, resulting with the ball in the back of the net.
The win moves Brentford into the top half of the table, climbing up the standing by five places, as none of their direct rivals was on the winning side during the weekend.
Mbeumo now has eight Premier League goals this season, a number only bettered by Erling Haaland with three more, while Thomas Frank's side return to winning ways, following the defeat at Manchester United last weekend.
La Liga: Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona
Scoring the first two goals in the Clasico makes the ageless Pole the pick in the Spanish top flight.

The 36-year-old missed a couple of sitters but delivered when it matteter to help Barcelona secure a result that now sees them six points ahead of their closest rival after eleven games into the La Liga season.
Robert Lewandowski hit a quick-fire double in the 54th and 56th minute to set the tune for a 4-0 win after one more goal each for Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
He expertly played himself onside before calmly slotting past Andriy Lunin in the Real Madrid goal for his first. The former Bayern goal-getter then powered his header from an Alejandro Balde cross past the helpless goalkeeper for his second of the night.
Lewandowski now has 14 league goals this season, making him the early favourite for the European golden shoe.
Serie A: Ademola Lookman of Atalanta
The Nigerian is never far away from the headlines and for good reasons since the start of last season. With a brace of goals and assists in the weekend in Atalanta's 6-1 win over Hellas Verona.

Despite playing 56 minutes of the match, Ademola Lookman made the the most of his time in the pitch and completed his four goal contributions in the first-half, starting with an assist for the opening goal as early as the sixth minute of the match.
The 27-year-old registered his second assist of the evening, setting up Charles de Ketelaere in the 14th-minute to make it 3-0 to Gian Piero Gasperini's side, turning it into an exhibition, yet in the premature stages.
Ademola Lookman then turned goalscorer one minute before the half-hour mark to make it four, and added a second five minutes later to help establish a 5-0 lead at the time, with the match eventually ending 6-1 to Atalanta.
A very productive evening saw the CAF Player of the Year front-runner take his goal tally to four, and as many assists in six Serie A games this season. Ademola Lookman has also reached double figures of goal involvements for Atalanta this season, joining teammate Mateo Retegui as the only two players to have done so for the club so far.
The result was a much much needed one as it now see Atalanta move above Milan, who is yet to play following the postponement of their meeting with Bologna due to poor weather conditions.
Ademola Lookman, with four goal involvements in 56 minutes, takes the crown for the Player of the week.
Bundesliga: Alexis Claude-Maurice of Augsburg
In a fixture Augsburg had not tasted a win since September 2020, the French attacker helped them seal a come from behind win and thus edge the impressive Jamal Musiala in our pick from German top-flight.

Borussia Dortmund took an early lead in the WWK Arena on Saturday afternoon, goal scored by Donyell Malen in the opening four minutes, creating an impression that it'll be just one of those days, where a big team comes to town and make away with all the points.
However, Claude-Maurice showed the host have more than a point to prove and to win as he fired them level in the 25th-minute with a long-range shot, making it goal in back-to-back home game.
The 27-year-old capped off a brilliant display with a sensational winner less than five minutes after restart, sealing maximum points for Jess Thorup's side and sending them up to 12th on the log.
With four goal contributions in the league this season, he is now Augsburg's most productive player in the competition so far.
Ligue 1: Zakaria Aboukhlal of Toulouse
Toulouse had not recorded a win in four games ahead of their trip to Montpellier on Sunday. To add to that, it has not been one of their favourite fixtures in recent times having lost the two meetings last season.

However, they received inspiration from an unusual source this seaso as their 24-year-old Moroccan attacker Zakaria Aboukhlal played a direct involvement in all three goals to lead them to a flawless victory on the road.
Toulouse, who had just one point to show for their three away games this season took an early lead in the fifth minute through Aboukhlal. The former AZ Alkmaar player doubled the advantage by completing his brace three minutes later.
Aboukhlal then set up Joshua King for a third goal of the match in the 17th-minute but the goal was ruled out for offside following VAR review.
Ten minutes later, the same combination led to another goal and this time there was no offside flag to deny Joshua King, who converted to make it 3-0, the eventual scoreline at full-time.
Aboukhlal was the best player in the French top-flight during the weekend, and Toulouse can only hope that he is truly back at his best form, which saw him register 20 goal contributions in his debut season at the club, in 2022-23.

These five are our picks as the most standout individuals in the top five leagues in Europe, while we also acknowledge Ademola Lookman of Atalanta in the Serie A as the overall player of the weekend.
