One regular 'Man United' day will never happen?

The final result of 4-4 against AFC Bournemouth capped off a hugely dramatic day for Manchester United, who can barely catch a break from the unassuring atmosphere surrounding the club, one that clearly doesn't look like going away anytime soon.
The Mancunians missed the chance to move level on points with fourth-place Chelsea after only managing a draw in a match where they led three times but ultimately had to settle for a point.
However, the drama started earlier in the day, and it began with comments from Ruben Amorim during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Monday night Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
What did Ruben Amorim say?
As pressure continues to mount on the Portuguese due to limited playtime for Kobbie Mainoo, he is being forced to deliver heartbreaking lines in response to questions just to get himself off the hook.
Ahead of the meeting with Bournemouth, Ruben Amorim, in his pre-match presser, stressed why it is difficult for the former Academy star to get chances in the team, also adding that the youngster plays a similar role to captain Bruno Fernandes, and it is difficult to remove him.
The highlight of his interview was his comments on youth, stating:
“Of course (I rate Kobbie). But in the end, it's going to be the training, the games. Of course, he's not playing so many games, but Kobbie has had opportunities, especially last year. Everyone has.”
He continued; “Amass is now struggling in the championship. Chido is not always a starter in U21. All these guys played when a lot of people were saying sack the manager.
So you can see I’m not worried. I just want to win and if he's the right guy, I will put him in.”
What happened afterwards?
These comments did not go down well with the duo of Harry Amass and Chido Obi, who both reacted with posts on their respective IG handles to let the manager, or the world, know that the former Sporting manager was wrong in his remarks.

Amas, who has been thriving in his loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday, shared a picture of himself with the club's player of the month award for November before later taking it down, but the intention has already been communicated.
Whereas former Arsenal academy player Chido Obi, who made eight senior appearances last season, but has been with the youth teams this season, shared a picture of himself celebrating a goal, which has also been taken down.
Sources close to the academy players have disclosed that the comments have been viewed as disappointing, which led to social media outrage by the youngsters.
Formation dilemma
With the African Cup of Nations approaching and the duo of Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo soon to depart to represent their countries, there were discussions that the manager could opt for a 433 to prepare the team in time for their absence.
The team even worked on a four man defence aheaf of the game. However, there were no alterations to the manager's formation as Manchester United lineup in the famous 343, and no surprises; Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo were included in the team.
Best first-half under Ruben Amorim?

Manchester United completely dominated Bournemouth in the first half, especially in the opening 30 minutes, when the visitors could barely get out of their own half and United were asking all the questions.
They scored twice and could have easily scored more, but a rarely disappointing evening for Bryan Mbeumo, who had been their best attacker up until last night, proved costly at the end of the game.
41-year record left on the brink
Bournemouth peaked at the start of the second half and shocked their host with two quick goals, even minutes after the restart, to turn the match around and put themselves in a position to end United's record of more than 41 years.
The record? Manchester United have not lost a Premier League game in Old Trafford when leading at half-time since May 1984, when they surrendered a 1-0 first-half lead to lose 2-1 to Ipswich Town, no thanks to goals from Mich D'Avray and Alan Sunderland.
The Old Trafford landlord had played 388 games of such since then before last night and had never been beaten, winning 355 and dropping 66 points with 33 draws.
However, they did recover from the setback and retake the lead thanks to Bruno Fernandes's stunning free-kick and Matheus Cunha's second goal for the club.

Unfortunately, victory was denied as substitute Eli Junior Kroupi scored the eighth goal of the match six minutes from time to snatch a point for the visitors, who also picked up a point recently against Chelsea to end a run of back-to-back defeats.
The result saw Manchester United become the first side, since Manchester City against Chelsea in November 2023, to go ahead three times in a Premier League game and not win.
Kobbie Mainoo's brother T'shirt saga
Jordan, brother to young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, delivered a pointed message to the Portuguese manager and Manchester United by wearing a "FREE KOBBIE MAINOO" T-shirt to Old Trafford for the game.
The action continues to add more fuel to the fire of mayhem at the club, especially with the imminent departure of Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, and Noussair Mazraoui, who are set to leave them hanging out to dry in attack.

One regular 'Man United' day will never happen?
The relentless cycle of drama, from the manager's controversial comments and academy fallout to the spectacle of a three-goal lead squandered, all in one day, confirms that a truly regular day of stability and quiet is strange at Old Trafford, and chaos continues to define the club.
