PSG sextuple, Harry Kane centurion, and signing off a remarkable 2025 in style

The calendar year has come to a close for some of the major teams and leagues in Europe, with the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 leading the list after the conclusion of all engagements for the year.

Amidst the festive and holiday season, some players and clubs stood out in the concerned league over the course of the past 51 weeks of football in 2025, from individual to collective milestones, many of which exceeded imagination.

From PSG's one-year-of-a-kind to Harry Kane's continued dominance in Germany, here are the top five highlights from the concluded divisions of Europe's top five leagues.

PSG 50 wins — A record for a Ligue 1 club

PSG reached 50 wins, setting a new all-time record for a Ligue 1 team.

After struggling to extend their league form to Europe in the first half of the 2024-25 season, Luis Enrique's team sensationally started the year, thrashing Manchester City and Stuttgart to nick a place in the Champions League elimination playoff.

Before that, PSG defeated AS Monaco in the Super Cup final to kick off the year, while they also continued to win in the league until their first defeat in the competition at home to OGC Nice in gameweek 31.

Overall in 2025, PSG won 25 Ligue 1 games, six Coupe de France wins, five Club World Cup wins, final wins in the French Super Cup, while penalty shootout wins in the UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Intercontinental Cup are not counted for straight wins.

The other 13 victories came in the UEFA Champions League, where they saw off teams like Arsenal, Manchester City, Inter, Liverpool, Barcelona, and several others.

A reminder that Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Atlético Madrid are among the teams beaten by Les Parisiens in 2025, to achieve their 50 wins, a record which will be around for more than a while because several teams rarely play up to 50 games in a calendar year.

Harry Kane conquering the Bundesliga

At 31, Harry Kane finally won his first major silverware after he helped Bayern Munich clinch the Bundesliga title at the end of last season, dethroning Bayer Leverkusen with a remarkable run under Vincent Kompany.

After losing the title in his debut season, the pressure was more on the England captain than the rest of the team, many of whom had won a host of silverware with the Bavarians before the £100 million signing of the Spurs legend.

Kane delivered with both his goalscoring and playmaking skills to ensure that Bayern made no mistakes, and they ended up winning the title in style, beating second-place Leverkusen by 13 points.

He was also on target at the start of the season as Bayern Munich beat Stuttgart to clinch the German Super Cup, while in the final match of the season, he became the fastest player to reach 100 Bundesliga goal contributions, needing just 78 games and surpassing the previous record of 119 games.

PSG equalled the most silverware in a calendar year

Paris Saint-Germain in 2025 will live long in memory, but maybe longer in history books as they equaled the record for most silverware won in a calendar year with six.

They kick off the year by winning the French Super Cup, beating Monaco 1-0 thanks to Ousmane Dembele's lone strike to clinch what was their 13th title of the competition in January.

At the end of the Ligue 1 season, they won the title, extending their record to 13, and the following week, they claimed the Coupe de France, beating Reims 3-0 in Saint-Denis, with all goals coming in the first half.

Luis Enrique's team concluded the season by defeating Inter 5-0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League to win the title for the first time in their history, and became the first French team to do so since Olympique Marseille in 1993.

They won their fifth title with the UEFA Super Cup in August and completed their record-equaling feat by beating Flamengo on penalties to win the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, although they did miss the chance to set a new record by losing the final of the FIFA Club World Cup to Chelsea back in July.

A wrap

In 2025, PSG made themselves a team for the history books, and their season, titles, collective and individual recognitions for the club and players, will make it forever a year to be cherished.

Their starman, Ousmane Dembele, won the Ballon d'Or, becoming the first Frenchman to win the award for a French club since Jean-Pierre Papin in 1991.

Dembele also won a host of other individual awards, including the Ligue 1 and Champions League Player of the Year awards, the Best FIFA Men's Player, and several other recognitions, plus the Ligue 1 top scorer award.

The likes of Vitinha, Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma (left in the summer), Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes, also received famous nominations, with Hakimi also winning the CAF Men's Player of the Year, while a similar award from Asia went to Kang-In Lee.

Luis Enrique also won the Best Coach award, and the club was crowned the best club in the world. They scored 178 goals during the year, another record for a French club.

For Harry Kane, the England captain ended the year with 60 goals for club and country, while also taking Bayern Munich's nine-point lead after 15 Bundesliga games, as well as only the second team to reach the Champions League knockout phase after Arsenal.

It was a year to relish for both Harry Kane, PSG, and everyone associated with the club, and now that it is all over, they can look back and enjoy their achievements while preparing for the challenge of the next calendar year.

Responsible betting is not about fear. It is about structure. A bettor who manages bankroll, stake size, bet history, and emotional timing gets more value from sports markets than someone chasing one dramatic slip. It should never include rent, bills, debt payments, food money, school fees, emergency savings, or business cash. That boundary sounds basic, but most betting problems begin when users treat the account balance as flexible spending rather than a closed betting wallet.
