Man United, Inter and 5 Clubs Having Worst ever Starts To the Season

The season has kicked off in disappointment for many of the teams that would have been optimistic at the start of it, and after a few games, their hopes have been shattered.
From Manchester United in England to Inter in Italy, here are the five clubs having the worst-ever starts to the season.
5 Clubs Having Worst Ever Starts to the Season
1. Manchester United | Joint worst-ever start in Premier League era
The record Premier League winners have just four points after four games into their first full season under Ruben Amorim, a statistic that represents their worst ever start to a league campaign since the start of the Premier League era.
Manchester United fell to Arsenal at Old Trafford in their curtain raiser against Arsenal, the only sixth time they've lost a league home game to one of their fiercest rivals in the new era, but there were still reasons for optimism at full-time.
Four games on, one win and one Carabao Cup elimination in the hands of Grimsby Town later, their first-ever in the hands of a League Two team, they have accrued their worst start ever in 33 years.

A draw at Fulham was followed up by a laboured win over newly promoted Burnley, while the defeat in the Manchester derby sealed what has been a start to forget, and confirmed that it matches the worst start to a season in their history.
4. Inter | One of Inter's Worst Ever Starts
After their loss to Juventus in the thrilling Derby d'Italia on Saturday evening, Inter have lost two of their opening three games of the Serie A season, they've never had it worse since 38 years ago in 1983-84.
The Nerazzurri got their season underway in sensational fashion, walloping Torino 5-0 in the Maezza, but they had this low coming after they failed to capitalize on their early goal at home to Udinese before the international break, allowing the visitors to come from behind and secure a rare win.

What is now the start of a disastrous tale is a fixture they've won each of the previous six before kickoff, and after that, a game away to Juventus was always going to be tricky, and now Cristian Chivu will feel the heat on the seat.
Inter battled back from the cusp of defeat to lead in Turin, but the host would not be denied their third win of the season, and managed to score two goals with 15 minutes left on the clock to seal a 4-3 win.
Inter last lost two of their opening three Serie A games of the season in 2011-12, but they've never had it worse since 1983-84, when they picked up just one point from their opening three Serie A games.
3. Brest | Worst ever start since they became Stade Brest
It is never surprising how fast things change in football, and Brest, who is amongst the teams having their worst ever starts to their league season, will need no explanation on that front.
Two seasons ago, they earned their first-ever UEFA Champions League ticket and last season played in it, even making it out of the league phase before sensationally losing to their French rivals, PSG, in the elimination playoff.

But lack of focus after that European exit led to them being bundled out of European places, and they finished the season on 50 points, eleven less than their total in the previous season, and ninth place finish.
This term hasn't started well either. Eric Roy's charge have one point from four games, setting a new low of their worst start to any league campaign since 46 years ago in 1979, when they lost all four opening games of the season.
4. Wolves | Worst ever start to a league campaign
Not even one of their worst-ever starts to a league season; it stands out as their worst. Never in their 127 years in league history have the Wolves had a bad start to the season as they are currently having, and things may not get any better.
A 4-0 home loss to Manchester City in the opening weekend was not much of a concern for Vitor Pereira, and maybe neither was the narrow away loss at Bournemouth, more so as it was followed by a much brighter display to see off West Ham United in the Carabao Cup.

However, after recent defeats to Everton and Newcastle United, which have culminated in their worst-ever start to a league season, the thought of relegation couldn't be more overwhelming for a team hugely tipped to go down come the end of the season in May.
With this already being their worst-ever start, moving on will be a priority in upcoming games, and they'll have no better chance to do that than when they host newly promoted Leeds United in Molineux in the next gameweek.
5. Aston Villa | Worst start since 1997
Unai Emery's charge came close to sealing a Champions League spot last season, but this term they face the prospect of the worst-ever start in their history after four unproductive games into the season.

Aside from this being their worst start to the season since 1997-98, Villa have also failed to score in any of their four Premier League games, albeit they have attempted as many shots as Liverpool, which is the joint most so far.
It's the first time in their history that they failed to score at this stage of the season, and Unai Emery will know he has only one problem, which is getting his misfiring attackers back on track ahead of upcoming games.
Harvey Elliott finally helped them produce a goal in the Carabao Cup Round 3 clash with Brentford, but they eventually lost out 4-2 on penalties after Aaron Hickey leveled matters for the host three minutes before the hour mark.
Only eight teams outscored Villa in the Premier League last season. With their 58 in the league and only the likes of Arsenal, City, Chelsea, and Liverpool scoring more across all competitions, it's a matter of time before the goals start flying in again.
